I’m thrilled to announce that IT Central Station has been selected as a finalist in the 2013 MIT Sloan CIO Symposium Innovation Showcase. This showcase highlights ten early stage companies “that offer new levels of value and advancement to enterprise IT.”
Previous finalists includes some of the industry’s most innovative and successful startups including Yammer (acquired by Microsoft for $1.2B), Nimbula (acquired by Oracle), and Rypple (acquired by Salesforce.com). We’re honored to be included in such a fine list of innovative companies.
This award is just the latest industry accolade for IT Central Station, recognizing how our use of crowdsourcing and B2B social networking is disrupting the $3 trillion annual market for enterprise technology products and services. Earlier in the year, Forrester Research named us as one of the top 3 highlights for B2B tech social marketing.
“The IT procurement process is going social,” said Christine Dover, Research Director of Enterprise Applications and Digital Commerce at IDC. “IT Central Station is a disruptive, innovative platform at the forefront of this new social buying process, based on crowdsourcing, product reviews, and professional social networking.”
“MIT is all about innovation and entrepreneurship, and we developed the Innovation Showcase to highlight early stage companies that are on the leading edge. Rypple is one these companies,” said David L. Verrill, executive director of the MIT Center for Digital Business and co-chair of the Innovation Showcase. “The Symposium provides these early stage companies with a platform to demonstrate their new thinking and approaches to vital challenges facing CIOs in today’s digital economy.”
I hope you’ll join us for the MIT Sloan CIO Symposium. Please send me an email (my first name at itcentralstation dot com) if you’ll be attending! The event is scheduled for May 22 in Cambridge.
